THE PROCESS
Traditionally women are not meant to “do it all” and do it all alone. Women would gather around each other, aunts, sisters, grandmothers and take care of the new mama so she had a greater capacity to take care of her baby. It is no surprise that women release the hormone oxytocin when gathered in groups. This same feeling of being supported can come with a Doula, much like a ‘Wing-Woman’, especially in a world where we often live apart from close family and friends.
What Kind of Doula am I?
I am a doula that combines elements of yoga and breath work with informed evidence based practices to create an individualized birth plan that suits your wants and needs whether that be at home or in a hospital.
Knowing Your Options
It is essential for the birthing person to know their options and have the information so you are confident and secure being in charge of your own birth. As you advocate I set the intention of being a doula that gives you an empowered birth experience knowing that you have a someone by your side through preconception, pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum.
